ITxPT specifies FAKRA usage standards for automotive connectors
ITxPT, whose full name is Information Technology for Public Transport, is an international non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the standards and specifications of public transportation systems. By sharing standardized communication technology solutions, public transportation systems in different cities and regions can achieve interoperability, provide better passenger experience, and manage the transportation system more efficiently.
With the development of V2X, vehicles can connect to more and more objects. In order to support Internet of Vehicles communication technology, multiple antennas may need to be installed, including managing remote communications (GSM/GPRS/UMTS), short-range communications (Wi-Fi), and GPS positioning.
FAKRA connectors are available in many different color codes for easy installation. To unify global installation specifications, ITxPT specifies FAKRA connection types for antennas in different frequency bands (as shown in the table).
