KPN- 5G truck platooning field trial test in Netherlands
Last week, KPN from Netherlands has announced its successful 5G truck platooning field trial together with Bosch the Netherlands, Siemens, Kapsch TrafficCom AG, Eindhoven University of Technology.
First of all, what is truck platoon? Early in 2018, enterpriseiotinsights.com explained the newly aroused development thoroughly, "Truck platooning involves a number of trucks equipped with state-of-the-art driving support systems. It was believed this development enabled the capacity of loads, reduced fuel consumption and boosted traffic flow. This article also unveiled US truck platoon service provider Peloto Technology had started investment in the US and 9 states in the US has approved full truck platooning in later 2018. In this latest trial test, one pioneer car sent its intentions to following two vehicles. This 5G network not only ensures mobile signal coverage but also priorities decisions across all the applications.
